Have you ever made contact with
the creative spirit, that certain something hard to describe, but full of
good―and sometimes great―ideas It is more than an occasional great thought.
When we feel the moving of the creative spirit, it brings to life a style of
being: a lifetime filled with the desire to invent, to explore new ways of doing
things, and to turn dreams into reality.
That flash of inspiration is the
final moment of a process marked by unique stages―the basic steps in creative
problem-solving. The first stage is preparation, when you look for any
information that might be important. It's when you let your imagination run
But one barrier(障碍) is the inside voice of judgment that locks
up our creative spirit within the limits of what we think acceptable. It's the
voice that whispers to you, &They'll think I'm foolish,& or &That
will never work.& But we can learn to recognize this voice of judgment and
have the courage to discount its unhelpful advice.
Once you have thought about all
the relevant(相关的) pieces and pushed your mind to
the limits, you can let the problem remain and take in all you have gathered.
It's a stage when much of what goes on occurs outside your focused awareness.
As the saying goes, &You sleep on it.&
We are more open to creative
thoughts from the unknowing mind when we are not really thinking of anything.
That is why daydreams are so useful in the search for creativity. Anytime you
can just daydream and relax is useful in the creative process: a shower, long
drives, a quiet walk, etc.
With luck, daydreaming will lead
to a light turning on above your head, when all of a sudden the answer will
come to you as if from nowhere. This is the popular stage―the one that usually
gets all the glory and attention, the moment that people sweat and long for,
the feeling &This is it!& But the thought alone is still not a
creative act. The final stage is translation, when you take your creative
thought and tran it becomes useful to you and others.

( 08 北京70, 表示赞扬)A Race Against Death ( 08 湖北72, 表示介绍)All for a Nap ( 08 四川46, 表示介绍)Grandmother’s Quilt ( 08 重庆59)Harmonyin family (07 北京71, 表示介绍)Win-Cube Program ( 07 湖南59, 表示介绍)Cross-Cultural Differences ( 07 安徽75,表示介绍)Happiness through Honorable Actions( 07 广东50, 表示劝告)Toni Morrison and her novel Love ( 06山东61,表示介绍)2. 祈使句型标题:Don’t Expect a Perfect Speech ( 07 辽宁75, 表示劝告)Test Your Reading ( 05 重庆62, 表示建议)We’re Alone Together on the Internet( 07 江苏63, 表示介绍)Smart Shoes Decide on Television Time( 07山东75, 表示介绍)3. 名词性从句型标题What He Valued Most ( 08 江苏70, 表示介绍)Cell Phone Alerts Coming Soon ( 08 山东66, 表示介绍)Chocolate May Cure Coughs ( 08 全国II56, 表示介绍)What T-shirts Can Teach US ( 06 全国卷II 60, 表示介绍)4. How to Mend a Troubled Friendship ( 06全国卷II 53, 表示介绍)5. Charity Shop: Where You Buy to Donate.( 08天津43, 表示介绍)TheSilk Road: East Meets West ( 08 陕西56, 表示介绍)Christmas: Not a Good Festival for Santas( 05 江西59, 表示介绍)二、熟悉标题配备原则, 提高解题命中率1. 1: Something in chocolate could be used to stop coughs and lead to more effectivemedicines, say UK researchers. ( 2008 全国卷II 阅读D篇首节)试题( 56 题) :Which of the following would be the best title for the text?A. Codeine: A NewMedicineB. Chocolate May Cure CoughsC. Cough Treatment: A Hard CaseD. Theobromine Can Cause Coughs分析:B。 2: Federal regulators Wednesday approved a plan to create a nationwide emergency alert (警报) system using text messages delivered to cell phones. ( 2008 山东卷阅读B 篇首节)试题( 66 题) : Which of the following would be the best title for the text?A. Cell Phone Alerts Protecting StudentsB. Cell Phone Alerts by Wireless IndustryC. Cell Phone Alerts of National DisastersD. Cell Phone Alerts Coming Soon分析: D。 Theshops have very low running costs: all profits go to charity work. Charity shops raise more than £110 million a year, funding ( 资助) medical research, overseas aid, supporting sick and poor children, homeless and disabled people, and much more. What better place to spend your money? You get something special for a very good price and a good moral sense. You provide funds to a good cause and tread lightly on the environment.( 2008 天津卷阅读B 篇末节)试题( 43 题) : Which of the followin& may be the best title for the passage?A. What to Buy at Charity Shops.B. CharityShop: ItsOrigin&Development.C. CharityShop:Where You Buy toDonate.D. The Public’s Concern about Charity Shops. What better place to spend your money? You get something special for a very good price and a good moral sense. You provide funds to a good cause and tread lightly on the environment. Charity Shop: Where You Buy to Donate. When it comes to friends, I desire those who will share my happiness, who possess wings of their own and who will fly with me. I seek friends whose qualities illuminate ( 照亮) me and train me up for love. It is for these people that I reserve the glowing hours, too good not to share. It is such comforting companions I wish to keep. One bright hour with their kind is worth more to me than the lifetime services of a psychologist ( 心理学家) , who The empt y vessels make t he great est sound. will only fill up the healing ( 愈合的) silencenecessary to those darkest moments in which I would rather be my own best friend. ( 2008北京卷阅读D 篇) 试题( 70 题) : What is the best title for the passage?A. Unforgettable ExperiencesB. Remarkable ImaginationC. Lifelong FriendshipD. 原文: Runners in a relay(接力) race pass a stick in one direction. However, merchants passed silk, gold, fruit, and glass along the Silk Road in more than one direction. They earned their living by traveling the famous Silk Road. The Silk Road was not a simple trading network. It passed through thousands of cities and towns. It started from eastern China, across Central Asia and the Middle East, and ended in the Mediterranean Sea. It was used from about 200 B.C, to about A.D, 1300, when sea travel offered new routes (路线). It was sometimes called the world’s longest highway. However, the Silk Road was made up of many routes, not one smooth path. They passed through what are now 18 countries. The routes crossed mountains and deserts and had many dangers of hot sun, deep snow and even battles. Only experienced traders could return safe. The Silk Road got its name from its most prized product. Silk could be used like money to pay taxes or buy goods. But the traders carried more than just silk. Gold, silver, and glass from Europe were much fond in the Middle East and Asia. Horses traded from other areas changed farming practices in China. Indian merchants traded salt and other valuable goods. Chinese merchants traded paper, which produced an immediate effect onthe West. Apples traveled from central Asia to Rome. The Chinese had learned to graft (嫁接) different trees together to make new kinds of fruit. They passed this science onto others, including the Romans. The Romans used grafting to grow the apple. Trading along the Silk Road led to world-wide business 2,000 years before the World Wide Web. The people along the Silk Road did not share just goods. They also shared their beliefs. The Silk Road provided pathways for learning, diplomacy (外交), and religion (宗教). What is the best title for the passage?A. The Silk Road: Past and PresentB. The Silk Road: East Meets WestC. The Silk Road: Routes Full of DangersD. The Silk Road: Pathways for Learning分析: B。

Although there was a good reason for Sam's being late - serious illness at home - he decided that this by-now-familiar excuse wouldn't work any longer. His supervisor was probably already pacing up and down preparing a dismissal speech.&&& Yes, the boss was, as Sam entered the office at 9:35. The place was as quiet as a locker room(更衣室); everyone was hard at work. Sam's supervisor came up to him. Suddenly, Sam forced a grin and stretched out his hand. "How do you do!"he said. Yet sometimes people themselves create barriers(障碍)to transportation and communication. In some countries, laws stop people from moving freely from place to place. Over the centuries, many groups of people have been denied the freedom to travel because of their race, religion, or nationality. In the Middle Ages, for example, Jews were often forbidden to move about freely within certain cities. South Africa's government used to require black Africans to carry passes when they travel within the country. Some governments require all citizens to carry identification papers and to report to government officials whenever they move.&&& Countries set up customs posts at their borders. Foreign travelers must go through a customs inspection before they are allowed to travel in the country. Usually travelers have to carry special papers such as passports and visas(签证). Some countries even limit the number of visitors to their country each year. Others allow tourists to visit only certain areas of the country, or they may require that travelers be with an official guide at all times during their stay.&&& Many of those barriers to travel also act as barriers to communication. When two governments disagree with each other on important matters, they usually do not want their citizens to exchange news or ideas freely. Countries often try to keep military or industrial information secret.&&& Today, people have the ability to travel, to communicate, and to transport goods more quickly and easily than ever before. Natural barriers that were difficult or dangerous to cross a hundred years ago can now be crossed easily. The barriers that people themselves make are not so easy to overcome. But in spite of all the different kinds of barriers, people continue to enjoy travel and the exchange of goods and ideas.&&& 1. The examples in paragraph 2 are used to tell the readers that _______.&&& A. people have been allowed to travel freely within the country&&& B. people have not been permitted to travel freely for various reasons&&& C. travelers have to carry special papers such as passports and visas&&& D. customs posts are necessary at the borders of the countries&&& 2. Some governments limit the freedom of communication because _______.&&& A. they intend to keep their national secrets unknown to others&&& B. they think such freedom will lead to wars&&& C. they often disagree with each other on important matters&&& D. they want to show their authority over communication&&& 3. We may learn from the passage that _______.&&& A. people do not care about the removal of barriers between countries&&& B. people can not remove the obstacles made by themselves&&& C. man-made barriers are sometimes harder to overcome than natural ones&&& D. barriers should be taken for granted as they always exist&&& 4. Which of the following can serve as the best title of the passage?&&& A. Barriers Made by People&&& B. Functions of Communication&&& C. Restrictions on Transportation&&& D. Progress of Human Society&&& (科普篇)&&&&&& ( D)&&& In the 1960s, medical researchers Thomas Homes and Richard Rahe developed a checklist of stressful events. They found out that any major change can be stressful. Negative events like "serious illness of a family member" were high on the list, but so were some positive life-changing events, like marriage. When you take the Holmes-Rahe test you must remember that the score does not show how you deal with stress - it only shows how much you have to deal with. And we now know that the way you deal with these events has a great effect on your chances of staying healthy.&&& By the early 1970s, hundreds of similar studies had followed Holmes and Rahe. And millions of Americans who work and live under stress worried over the reports. Somehow, the research got boiled down to a memorable message. Women's magazines ran headlines like "Stress causes illness!" If you want to stay physically and mentally healthy, the articles said, avoid stressful events. But such simplistic advice is impossible to follow. Even if stressful events are dangerous, many - like the death of a loved one - are impossible to avoid. Moreover, any warning to avoid all stressful events is a prescription(处方)for staying away from opportunities as well as trouble. Since any change can be stressful, a person who wanted to be completely free of stress would never marry, have a child, take a new job or move.&&& The idea that all stress makes you sick also takes no notice of what we know about people. What's the writer's attitude towards…?& Which of the following is the best title of the article ? 和What can we& infer from the passage? The bright sunlight reflected in the water dazzled my eyes. Since she first apologized to you for it, it is meet that you do the same. III. As the disease developed to its advanced stage, the cancer is inoperable. Which of the following is mentioned?& Which statement is also right besides A? Which of the following is wrong? Which cannot we infer from the passage? Which topic will following the passage above?& 如果盲目作答,很可能就会中出题人的圈套,落入出题人事先设下的陷阱,而自己还未发觉,窃以为喜。 &&& F. 尽可能地将短文所涉及的5W、1H弄清楚(并非所有短文均有5W、1H),它们是who, what, when, where, why及how。 &&& ( A ) 1-4. A. 细节题。文中说at times he was unable to see,是说他有时看不见东西,但不等于说他的眼睛瞎了。 &&& 3. B. 推断题。根据buried in a coffin for one week…spent 62 hours in a giant top of a 25-meter pillar in the center or New York for 35 hors before jumping into a pile of boxes 等细节描写,我们可以得出这个结论:David Blaine 喜欢冒险。故选B.&&& 4.B. 根据A native of Brooklyn, New York &&& ( B ) 1-4. Give and receive, perfect and imperfect, &&& 4. B. 推断题。根据shortly after receiving an ultimatum ( 最后通牒)about being late on the job 我们可以了解到,Sam 不是第一次上班迟到了。&&& ( C ) 1-4. The idea that all stress makes you sick also takes no notice of what we know about people. &&& ( E ) 1-4.
