what it shows is very different from what many adults think is happening in their children’s lives做整个she says的宾语;what it shows 做is very different from what many adults think is happening in their children’s lives主语what many adults think is happening in their children’s lives做from宾语
谢谢您的回答,我想问一下,比如:my idea is different from what many adults think ,我想法与他所想的不同,这句对吗?主要的疑惑是what many adults think,是不是可以作为from的宾语?

错句子,不全.show是谓语后面跟的是宾语从句.前面应该有个it之类的主语.
前面没有it了,就直接一个句子:i didn't even know the building was finished
总之别扭。但是成分肯定还是那样的。
