Some people jump out of bed in the morning wide awake, energized, rested, feeling fit and capable of conquering the world, while others can barely drag themselves into an upright position because they suffer from morning fatigue. An individual can feel extremely tired in the morning for various reasons.

Consuming a lot of alcohol can disturb one’s sleep, according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. However, a low dose of alcohol can benefit an insomniac. Tolerance to the sedative effect produced by alcohol quickly develops, which may lead to overuse. Even though alcohol has a sedative effect, it can also act as a stimulant and wake you up in the middle of the night, long before you are ready to wake up. Alcohol can have a biphasic response, meaning it acts as both a depressant and stimulant. The reaction depends on the individual and how he metabolizes alcohol, notes Madsci.org.

When a person suffers from a condition called chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), it drains the body of its energy and strength and results in persistent fatigue. Numerous factors can cause this type of fatigue, according to nutritionist Kristina Shaw, who notes that stress and an unbalanced lifestyle, where an individual lives on sweets, salts and caffeine to stimulate his adrenal glands and liver, ultimately depletes the body’s physical reserves. Compromising the body in this manner puts you at risk for infection and viruses, which can cause fatigue.

Extreme fatigue can result from a noninflammatory form of arthritis called fibromyalgia. This condition impacts the ligaments, tendons and muscles of the body, causing great pain, which prevents restorative sleep. Even after many hours of sleep, an individual who has this condition does not feel energized or rested. Fibromyalgia sufferers are often unable to sleep deeply. This syndrome is referred to as alpha-EEG anomaly, meaning that sudden brain activity during periods of deep sleep causes people to wake up or feel less rested.
Fibromyalgia can lead to restless leg syndrome (RLS), which entails twitching and pain in the legs as well as burning and crawling sensations that can last for an hour. This disturbs sleep and leads to morning fatigue.

Adrenal fatigue can lead to morning fatigue, . The adrenal glands secrete in excess of 50 hormones that humans need to stay healthy and energized. If your adrenals produce too much cortisol, this weakens one’s immune system, making a person susceptible to disease and chronic fatigue. Symptoms of adrenal fatigue include the sensation of not feeling awake, even though you’ve been up for three hours. In addition, sleepiness can occur in the afternoon followed by a burst of energy around 6 o’clock in the evening, another sleepy period at 9 o’clock and then a second wind at 11 o’clock, which lasts for a few hours. You may crave fat and salt and suffer from depression, muscular weakness and lack of energy.

Consider the medications you are taking. Some antidepressants and beta blockers can cause fatigue. Ask your physician if your medicine is making you tired.

Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her
sister on the bank and of having nothing to do. Once or twice she had peeped
into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations
in it. “What is the use of a book,” thought Alice, “without pictures or
conversation?”
So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she
could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the
pleasure of making a daisy-chain (花环) would be worth the
trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit
with pink eyes ran close by her.
There was nothing so VERY nor did Alice think it so VERY much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, “Oh dear! Oh
dear! I shall be late!” (when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to
her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed
quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually TOOK A WATCH OUT OF ITS WAISTCOAT—POCKET,
and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it
flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a
waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it. Burning with curiosity, she ran
across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down
a large rabbit-hole under the hedge.
In another moment down went Alice after it, never once
considering how in the world she was to get out again.
The rabbit-hole went straight on like a tunnel for some
way, and then dipped suddenly down, so suddenly that Alice had not a moment to
think about stopping herself before she found herself falling down a very deep
Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for
she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what
was going to happen next. First, she tried to look down and make out what she
was coming to, but it was too
then she looked at the
sides of the well, and noticed that they were filled with cupboards and
book- here and there she saw maps and pictures hung upon pegs. She took
down a jar from one of the s it was labeled “ORANGE
MARMALADE”, but to her disappo she did not like to drop
the jar for fear of killing somebody, so she managed to put it into one of the
cupboards as she fell past it.
“Well!” thought Alice to herself, “after such a fall as
this, I shall think nothing of tumbling
down stairs. How brave
they’ll all think of me at home! Why, I wouldn’t say anything about it, even if
I fell off the top of the house!’ (Which was very likely true.)
Down, down, down. Would the fall NEVER come to an end!
