作为校企合作的项目之一,我校聘请了本市一些星级酒店的管理人员作为我校酒店服务与管理专业的兼职教师,定期到我校进行授课。在与这类兼职教师的交流中,他们反映,如果酒店服务与管理专业的毕业生今后希望能在高星级酒店有较好的发展,最需要加强的能力之一就是英语能力。但一直以来,由于各种主观和客观的原因,中职学生对酒店英语课程的学习没有太大的兴趣,这门课程的教学效果也不理想;学生到了酒店实习,连一些基本的酒店英语词汇都不懂,跟谈不上与客人进行英语对话。为了改变这种情况,中职学校可以尝试在酒店英语的教学中运用模块教学法,以激发学生的学习兴趣,提高学生的学习效率,为学生今后的求职就业做好准备。
一、模块化教学法的定义
模块化教育模式以“MES”和“CBE”两种流派比较具有代表性。MES(ModulesofEmployableSkills,模块式技能培训),是20世纪70年代初由国际劳工组织研究开发出来的以现场教学为主,以技能培训为核心的一种教学模式。它是以岗位任务为依据确定模块,以从事某种职业的实际岗位工作的完成程序为主线,可称之为“任务模块”。以岗位任务为依据确定模块可以让学生带着“任务”去学习,有更明确的学习目标,从而可提高学生对课程的兴趣和学习欲望,最终提高学生的学习效率。
二、模块化教学在中职酒店英语教学中的适用性
分析和反思目前中职的酒店英语教学,最主要的问题是,在教学过程中,授课教师过于偏重理论知识的传授,容易偏向从语言到语言的教学,缺乏酒店行业英语背景知识和酒店工作场景的语言语境再现。而当前的中职学生文化基础相对比较差,学习的兴趣和积极性不高,生活经历和阅历比较少,对于酒店的岗位职责和工作内容缺乏了解,加上理解能力有限,理论知识对他们来说过于抽象;对于酒店英语课程的这些理论知识,无论酒店英语课程的授课老师如何的旁征博引,系统深入浅出地讲授,中职学生都很难完全理解,即便有部分特别勤奋、努力、记性好的学生靠死记硬背能够一时记得,也不明白其中的意思,更不用说将知识运用于酒店的实际工作了。可见传统教学方式并不利于让学生很好的吸收和运用知识。而模块教学在课程内容上更加关注学生的学习兴趣,更加关注学生学习方法和岗位技能的获取。由于模块式教学在职业教育中的鲜明特色,相对于这些枯燥的理论知识来说,按酒店实际的岗位划分模块的学习对中职学生还是有较大的吸引力。在按酒店岗位划分模块的技能学习中通过授课教师的示范和指导,让学生扮演酒店工作岗位的各个角色进行学习和演练,让学生从中获取掌握学习的快乐,提高学生的学习效率。
三、模块教学法在中职酒店英语教学中的应用
1、划分模块的标准以酒店各岗位的工作任务和内容为依据确定模块,以从事酒店某个实际岗位工作的完成程序为主线,将各模块有机地联系起来。划分模块的过程中,突出酒店岗位技能训练的主导地位,理论教学完全服务于技能训练,掌握理论知识就是为了今后工作中的实际应用。从而促使学生为了学习技能主动地学习基本理论知识,把基本的理论知识融合到技能学习中。
2、按酒店各岗位的工作任务和内容为依据划分的教学模块先按酒店的工作岗位将教材内容划分为三个大模块,每一模块都有明确的教育目标;再围绕酒店某一特定的工作内容整合的理论知识和技能,构成相对完整的学习小模块。学生在模块课程中所获得的不是一个个孤立的知识点,而是一个在某个工作主题统筹之下的结构化的知识框架。按酒店工作岗位划分的模块见下表:
3、模块教学对教材的要求当前的酒店英语教材,从中职到本科都已经有一系列比较成熟、全面的教材,但大部分教材都是基于学科完整的知识体系进行编写,没有适合模块教学要求的教材。按酒店各岗位的工作任务和内容为依据划分单元模块的教材并不多;而且大部分教材仍按传统教学模式的要求进行编写,偏重理论知识,缺乏酒店行业英语背景知识和酒店工作场景的语言语境再现,未体现对学生酒店实际工作所需技能的培养与训练。教材建设是酒店英语课程模块教学改革中最艰难的任务。因此,要能够真正实施模块教学,必须要加强模块式教学的教材开发。针对这种情况,我们选用的酒店英语课程的教材应按酒店岗位来划分单元,以重视学生的英语职业能力发展为核心,体现酒店职业特色,重基础知识、重知识应用、重技能训练、重能力的培养。所选的教材要充分体现任务引领、实践导向的课程设计思想,设计与酒店各岗位英语相对应的教学项目,充分体现教学内容模块化。每个中职学校可根据自身的情况,组织酒店英语课程的教师自编教材或根据所使用的教材编写配套的模块技能训练教材。无论自编教材还是根据所使用的教材编写配套的技能训练教材都应该遵循以下几点:①教材内容应按酒店各岗位进行模块划分。这样,学生在学习的过程中,将会带有明确的目的和任务,有利于提高学生的学习效率。②每一模块的教材内容要有较强的针对性。每个单元材料内容的安排应以酒店各岗位工作的实际要求为标准,所涉及的词汇、语法、文化背景、话题、内容应该与酒店岗位工作有着密切的联系,满足学生今后工作的需要,这样可以充分调动学生学习的积极性。③教材的内容也要不断地更新,使之既能促进基础教学目标的实现,同时又能适应新时期英语教学的时代社会特性要求。④教材内容既要有学生在岗位工作中所必须的基本知识和基本技能,又要以“必需”和“够用”为度,不应过分地追求“大、全、深”具有极强的职业导向性。
4、模块教学对教师的要求加大教师培养力度,建立教师定期到酒店实践的机制,通过学校组织教师到酒店前厅部、客房部、餐饮部等主要酒店工作部门轮岗工作、挂职实践的方法,增加教师酒店岗位实际工作经验,进一步了解酒店的运作流程和岗位要求。教师通过到酒店各部门各岗位实践,充分了解按岗位划分的各教学模块所需的教学内容,积累各教学模块所需知识和案例,丰富各模块的教学内容,且使教学更贴近实际运用的需要。
5、模块考评——理论实践相结合传统的考核办法是:学生的期末总成绩=平时成绩的30%+期末考试成绩的70%。这种考核办法可以说是由学生的期末考试成绩决定了学生的期末总成绩,这种考核办法未能很好地全面考核学生的知识和技能掌握情况。当采用模块教学法时,考核方式可以进行以下改革:首先是考核内容模块化,把每一模块作为考核单元,每一个模块均给出相应的考核成绩;其次是在教学过程中进行理论与技能的双项考核,考核包括每一个模块内容的理论与技能的双向考核,考核力求全面;最后,学生的期末总成绩由各个模块成绩构成,每个模块成绩所占的比例有该模块内容的重要性和难易程度来决定。
模块教学是中等职业学校教学改革的一个方向,在中职学校酒店英语课程的教学中尝试模块教学,对于提高学生的学习兴趣、激励学生的学习积极性有着重大意义,同时也鼓励优秀学生脱颖而出,使中职学校的教育更好地适应社会主义经济建设的需要,培养适应二十一世纪酒店行业需要的合格的实用型人才。

2、 About the Laundry关于洗衣

上午八点到下午两点接洗衣将会在当天午夜前送回;而下午两点到次日八点的洗衣将会在第二日下午两点之前送回。
(2) For the laundry, the regular service is within 8 hours and the express service is within 5hours.
