　　The tale of two cities is a historical story， one of Dickens& long fictions。The background to the novel is the revolution of France 。It portrayed a brutal and bloody story ， but it also contained love and friendship。
　　In the novel， Dickens sarcastically described a typical cruel nobleman&marquis of Evermonde 。 When he was young he and his brother stole a countrywoman by force and killed her family 。What&s worse ， he used his power to imprison Dr Manette ， a kind and honest man who knew all the things they had done and wanted to disclose their crimes 。 In order to hide their crimes。 Marquis of Evermonde and his brother threw Doctor Manette into prison for 18 years 。 During these 18 years，Doctor Manette lost his freedom and suffer a great in spirit 。
　　I felt unthinkable that Marquis of Evermonde and his brother killed people just as easily as they killed chickens。 They deprived other people&s freedom as they liked and they thought it was normal and unremarkable。 They had never realized that they had done something wrong or something improper。 Because their nature was cruel and evil， like demons。 There is an old saying which means: People who mit too many crimes will kill themselves。 After all， there is justice in the world。 The demons can&t be rampant forever。 Because the world will not forgive them。 They will pay their lives for their crimes。 Let&s see the consequence of the Marquis，&&He lay there like a stone with a knife pushed into his heart。& I think it was just what he ought to gain and it is a real exciting scene。[由整理]
　　The Marquis& death was just the beginning of people&s resistance to the nobleman。 Gradually more and more people joined in the revolution。 One after another nobleman were sentenced to death and their heads were cut down 。 However， some innocent people were implicated in the revolution。 Charles Darney was one of them He was the nephew of Marquis of Evermonde。 To the opposite of his uncle， Darney was a kind and independent young man。
　　Dickens spoke highly of kindness mercy and love in the novel too。 This is the other thone of the novel when Doctor Manette was released from prison。 It was his daughter Lucie who took care of him and helped him return to normal。 During this time， Dr manette and Lucie knew Charles Darney and Sydeny Carton， the two young man fell in love with Lucie at the same time 。 At last， Lucie married Chares Darney 。Dr Manette accepted Darney as his son-in-law although he knew that Darney was the nephew of the man who threw him into prison for18 years。 This is the love between father and daughter。 And Sydeny Carton ， the very great man ，loved Lucie deeply。 He promised Lucie that he would do everything for her happiness。 He did it truely ，he sacrificed himself instead of Darney who looked the same as him。 This is love for lovers 。 This is the most wonderful thing in the world。 It also reminds us that no matter how no matter when there is true love existing。 At the end ， Lucie， Dr Manette and Darney arri

　　The tale of two cities is different from other historical fictions。 Its characters and main plots are fictional under the real background of the revolution of France。 The author made the experience of the fictional charactor Dr Manette as the main clue。The plots are plicated， and they are flexuous and dramatic。 The structure is plete and rigorous。

　　&It was the best of times， and it was the worst of times。 It was the age of wisdom， and it was the age of foolishness。 It was the epoch of belief， and it was the epoch of incredulity。 It was the season of light， and it was the season of darkness。 It was the spring of hope， and it was the winter of despair。 We had everything before us， and we had nothing before us。 We were all going direct to Heaven， and we were all going direct the other way。 In short， the period was so far like the present period。 That some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received， for good or for evil， in the superlative degree of parison only。 &
　　With the beginning of above words， Dickens told us a love story called &A Tale of Two Cities&， which is one of his most important representative works。 The novel profoundly exposed the society contradiction before the French Revolution， intensely attacks the aristocratic social class is dissolute and cruel， and sincerely sympathizes with the depressed classes。 The novel also described many magnificent scenes like the revolt people attacked Bastille and so on， which displayed people's great strength。
　　The novel has portrayed many different people。 Doctor Manette is honest and kind but suffers the persecution actually ， Lucie is beautiful and gentle ，Charles is graceful and noble，Lorry is upright and honest ，Sydney is semblance of indifferent， innermost feelings of warm， unconventional but also selfless and lofty，Miss Pross is straightforward and loyal，Evremonde brothers are cruel and sinister。 The plex hatred is hard to solve， the cruel revenge has made more hatreds， loves rebirth in the hell edge， but take the life as the price。
　　Among many different kinds of people in the story， it is Sydney Carton who impressed me most。
　　I can&t describe my feeling at the first sight of him。 To tell the truth， he was not eye-catching at that time。 When the readers were immersed in the meeting between Lucie and Charles， he only played a little role as a lawyer who had the same face with Charles and extricated him from accusation through this point。
　　Then they went to drink。 Without scruple， Carton expressed his dislike to Charles。 Yes， they had the same face。 But they were different。 Carton was a little lawyer， while Charles was a successful man。 Carton was quite free and easy， while Charles was graceful and noble。 In fact， they were absolutely two distinctive men except for their appearance。 Certainly， what Carton cared about was not the wealth or the position， but the love of Lucie。 He realized that Lucie loved Charles， so he was barely out of control at that time。
　　Every time I read this part， I could feel his sincerity and broad-minded。 By no means would he say a lie。 He must tell you what he thinks in the heart。 It is Sydney Carton， a true man。
　　After a short time， he can&t resist himself going to see Lucie。 But when he stepped into the small forest， he saw Lucie and Charles getting together happily。 He didn&t rush towards them， however， he returned without a word。 Though he had a period of depression after that， he was clear who Lucie loved was not him。 So what he only would do was to bless her。
　　Some days later， he came to meet Lucie again。 He still told Lucie about his love， although he knew it was useless。 He just wanted her to know it， as he said，&I want you to know that you are my last dream in my life。 &
　　Many times， love is a thing about only one person。 &I love you。&------It&s my business， not yours。
　　So when Carton showed his deep love to Lucie， I suddenly felt that this man was so lovely and deserved to beloved。
　　&Remember always there&s a man who could give his life to you， or anyone you love。& Carton left with these words。 But all of these seemed a sign of misfortune。
　　From then on， I came to understand how profound his love was。 No doubt that it is the most moving love words in the world。 Although you don&t love me， I am still there for you or your beloved though thick and thin。
　　But I knew in this story， Carton was bound to a tragic role。 So when I saw he only left a view of his back in her wedding， there was a plex mood appearing slowly in my heart。
　　Some years passed。 When Lucie appeared in the front of Carton， she became a mother。 This time， Lucie&s face was filled with anxiety。 Because Charles was in prison and would be killed soon。 What lead to this was the plicated and filthy past。
　　From the point， the dirty of society was reflected。 It was the sorrow in that period。 But they must pay for this sorrow。 So it was the time that Carton achieved his permission。 &I told you once， for you I would do anything。 I will。 & He said。
　　At the last moment， he and Charles exchanged。 That they had the same face helped them at the second time。 When Lucie and her family left without knowing the truth， Carton， instead of Charles， went to be killed。
　　How can we evaluate his action? We can&t say anything about it because all what he did was out of love。
　　As he said to the young girl who panied him before died， &If we have no fear， we can be calm all the way。& He was so calm to greet what would be ing soon， for she would get her happiness and he loved her forever。
　　&It is a far， far better thing that I do， than I it is a far， far better rest that I go to than I have ever known。& With her face rising before his eyes， he went to execution ground calmly。

　　双城记1000字（一）　　《双城记》是狄更斯最重要的代表作之一。早在创作《双城记》之前很久，狄更斯就对法国大革命极为关注，反复研读英国历史学家卡莱尔的《法国革命史》和其他学者的有关着作。他对法国大革命的浓厚兴趣发端于对当时英国潜伏着的严重的社会危机的担忧。1854年底，他说：&我相信，不满情绪像这样冒烟比火烧起来还要坏得多，这特别像法国在第一次革命爆发前的公众心理，这就有危险，由于千百种原因--如收成不好、贵族阶级的专横与无能把已经紧张的局面最后一次加紧、海外战争的失利、国内偶发事件等等--变成那次从未见过的一场可怕的大火。&可见，《双城记》这部历史小说的创作动机在于借古讽今，以法国大革命的历史经验为借鉴，给英国统治阶级敲响警钟；同时，通过对革命恐怖的极端描写，也对心怀愤懑、希图以暴力对抗暴政的人民群众提出警告，幻想为社会矛盾日益加深的英国现状寻找一条出路。　　从这个目的出发，小说深刻地揭露了法国大革命前深深激化了的社会矛盾，强烈地抨击贵族阶级的荒淫残暴，并深切地同情下层人民的。作品尖锐地指出，人民群众的忍耐是有限度的，在贵族阶级的残暴统治下，人民群众迫于生计，必然奋起反抗。这种反抗是正义的。小说还描绘了起义人民攻击巴士底狱等壮观场景，表现了人民群众的伟大力量。然而，作者站在资产阶级人道主义的立场上，即反对残酷压迫人民的暴政，也反对革命人民反抗暴政的暴力。在狄更斯笔下，整个革命被描写成一场毁灭一切的巨大灾难，它无情地惩罚罪恶的贵族阶级，也盲目地杀害无辜的人们。　　这部小说塑造了三类人物。一类是以厄弗里蒙地侯爵兄弟为代表的封建贵族，他们&唯一不可动摇的哲学就是压迫人&，是作者痛加鞭挞的对象。另一类是得伐石夫妇等革命群众。必须指出的是，他们的形象是被扭曲的。例如得伐石的妻子狄安娜，她出生于被侮辱、被迫害的农家，对封建贵族怀着深仇大恨，作者深切地同情她的悲惨遭遇，革命爆发前后很赞赏她的性格、卓越的才智和非凡的组织领导能力；但当革命进一步深入时，就笔锋一转，把她贬斥为一个冷酷、凶狠、狭隘的复仇者。尤其是当她到医生住所搜捕路茜和小路茜时，更被表现为嗜血成性的狂人。最后，作者让她死在自己的枪口之下，明确地表示了否定的态度。第三类是理想化人物，是作者心目中以人道主义解决社会矛盾、以博爱战胜仇恨的榜样，包括梅尼特父女、代尔纳、劳雷和卡尔登等。梅尼特医生被侯爵兄弟害得家破人亡，对侯爵兄弟怀有深仇大恨，但是为了女儿的爱，可以摒弃宿仇旧恨；代尔纳是侯爵兄弟的子侄，他大彻大悟，谴责自己家族的罪恶，抛弃爵位和财产，决心以自己的行动来&赎罪&。这对互相辉映的人物，一个是贵族暴政的受害者，宽容为怀；一个是贵族侯爵的继承人，主张仁爱。他们中间，更有作为女儿和妻子的路茜。在爱的纽带的维系下，他们组成一个互相谅解、感情融洽的幸福家庭。这显然是作者设想的一条与暴力革命截然相反的解决社会矛盾的出路，是不切实际的。　　《双城记》有其不同于一般历史小说的地方，它的人物和主要情节都是虚构的。在法国大革命广阔的真实背景下，作者以虚构人物梅尼特医生的经历为主线索，把冤狱、与复仇三个互相独立而又互相关联的故事交织在一起，情节错综，头绪纷繁。作者采取倒叙、插叙、伏笔、铺垫等手法，使小说结构完整严密，情节曲折紧张而富有戏剧性，表现了卓越的艺术技巧。《双城记》风格肃穆、沉郁，充满忧愤，但缺少早期作品的幽默。　　双城记读后感1000字（二）　　这是最好的时代，也是最坏的时代。&&题记　　众所周知，法国大革命是人类史上的一个血的印记。而《双城记》真实地描绘了统治阶级的凶残和腐朽。通过阅读《双城记》，我深深的感受到了法国大革命时期法国统治阶级与广大人民之间的尖锐矛盾，体会到了作者狄更斯的思想&鲜血无法洗去仇恨，更不能代替爱&。　　《双城记》以法国大革命为背景，描绘了十八世纪的一位医生梅尼特从监狱中重获自由，和女儿一起到伦敦生活，五年后，他们在法庭上为名叫代尔纳的法国青年作证，露西和代尔纳因相爱而结婚。1789年，法国大革命爆发，代尔纳因身为贵族后裔而遭逮捕并判死刑。在千钧一发时刻，一直爱恋露西的英国青年卡尔登代替代尔纳上了断头台。　　卡尔登是书中最富魅力，也是最为复杂的一位人物，他颓废消极，浑浑噩噩地生活着。求学时，他只替同学写作业，工作后，即使拥有一身才华，他仍然选择默默无闻的打工。但是，在他冷漠的外表下，没有看到他有一份深沉的感情。他温柔的，执着的爱着露西，甚至最终为了露西愿意奉献出自己的。他让我们看到了他对露西那深沉的爱：用自己的性命换回自己心爱的女人的家庭幸福与她的笑颜。无论在哪个时代，卡尔登对露西的爱都显得那么珍惜和高贵。　　相较于卡尔登所代表的温柔与爱，得伐石太太则是杀戮和血腥的象征。因为亲人惨死在代尔纳叔叔与父亲的魔掌下，所以她一生只为仇恨而活。得伐石太太的嗜血固然使人不寒而栗，也叫人不禁感叹仇恨的力量。18世纪末的法国，就被这种执拗复仇的火焰燃烧成了修罗地狱。　　小说同样也赞美了其他角色：梅尼特医生正直高尚，且善良宽容，是仁爱的理想化身；露西则是爱和温情的化身；代尔纳是给统治阶级指明出路的人。这些人物表现出来的种种美德，都是作为人道主义者的狄更斯所热情赞颂的。　　作者狄更斯是19世纪英国现实主义文学的主要代表。他以妙趣横生的幽默、细致入微的心理分析，以及现实主义描写与浪漫主义气氛的有机结合着称。他所着的《双城记》以法国贵族的荒淫残暴、人民群众的重重苦难和法国大革命的历史，来影射当时的英国社会现实，预示着这嘲恐怖的大火&也将在法国上演。　　我完全赞同卡尔登在临死前说的：&复活在我，生命在我，信我的人，虽然死了，也必复活；凡活着信我的人，必永远不死。&这就是狄更斯为&最坏的时代&开出的良药，然而这毕竟是一种理想。有人说，《双城记》作为一部不朽的着作，如果没有卡尔登的存在和所作所为，这部小说就失去了它的价值和光辉。　　卡尔登的死，就像是羽毛轻柔地飘落水面，没有水花，却涟漪阵阵。它提醒了我们：真正的自由与平等是无法用断头台建立。　　我们不能因为岁月而忘记《双城记》给我们带来的教训，我们要从中获得，学到点什么，希望两百年后的我们能创造出真正平等、自由、博爱的新世纪，希望卡尔登临死前看到的世界，将会是我们未来的世界！　　双城记读后感1000字（三）　　这是一个以两百多年前的两个伟大的城市为背景的故事。浓雾弥漫，车灯摇曳不定的伦敦，绝望、颓废的巴黎的最底层。　　对于当时那场发生在巴黎的轰轰烈烈的大革命，太多人花了太多的笔墨去描述它。这对法国来说是一场具有重大意义的转变，甚至对于欧洲，对于整个世界来说也是如此。作者狄更斯，是英国最杰出的现实主义批判作家之一。虽然他没有亲眼目睹，却依靠自己丰富的想象力看到的当时的景象。　　《双城记》被誉为描写法国大革命的最杰出的代表作，我想最大的原因可能是因为它的与众不同。和其他的作品，比如卡莱尔的《法国大革命》不同，狄更斯更注重的是底层人民的喜怒哀乐。尽管在那个时代，这些小人物本身并不能引起世界的关注。但是作者敏锐的捕捉到这些小人物和大革命有着千丝万缕的联系，可以说法国大革命本身就是有小人物们的力量所引发的。　　在这部作品里，我看到了很多很多不同的人。正直善良却惨遭迫害的马奈特医生，美丽温柔的露西，优雅高尚的查尔斯，()忠厚老实的洛瑞，外表冷漠、内心热情，放荡不羁而又无私崇高的西德尼，扭曲了人性的德发奇太太，豪爽忠诚的普洛士小姐，残忍阴险的埃佛瑞蒙兄弟&&复杂的仇恨纠缠不清，残忍的复仇制造了更多仇恨，爱在地狱的边缘再生，却是以生命为代价。这错综复杂的一幕幕，活生生的展现在面前，仿佛重现了那个失去理智的时代。　　作为一个优秀的作家，在狄更斯的作品里，语言的精彩是必不可少的。各种修辞手法，比喻、夸张、对比、幽默、嘲讽，被运用自如，而作品的艺术性也被送上巅峰。&&&于是，克伦彻先生只得再听检察长先生怎样把史蒂夫先生套在陪审团先生们身上的紧身衣又一件件脱下来，翻个底朝天；&&最后法官大人站了起来，把那件紧身衣里里外外捣腾了一遍，看得出来，他想为犯人裁剪寿衣。&&&诸如此类精彩的段落，作品里比比皆是。于是，作者想要表达的每一个中心，都被体现得淋漓尽致了。我相信这对我们平时的，必定是大有帮助的。　　有人说，《双城记》是描写了两个男人和一个女人的故事，我却觉得，这样说的人必定没有了解作者真正想表达的意图。如果只是表达了这个，任何一部作品都可以达到露西和查尔斯的水准，那么《双城记》的优势怎么体现出来呢？在我看来，德发奇一家和法国贵族的仇恨也好，露西、查尔斯和西德尼的感情问题也好，都是为了体现一个共同的主题而设的。这个主题就是剖析这场大革命与民众之间的关系，看到底是什么引发了这场革命，到底这场血雨腥风给人们带来了什么。我想这才是作者想要表达的重心所在。
