点击蓝字关注我们，一起玩耍到底怎样才能站上“21世纪杯”总决赛的舞台？过五关、斩六将不足以描述过程之艰辛。在一个多月前刚刚结束的第22届中国日报社“21世纪·可口可乐杯”全国英语演讲比赛中，即使你已经战胜同赛区的万千好手来到南京，要想走上总决赛舞台向观众和评委们一抒关于全球化的看法，还得先通过表达你对“ManandTechnology:TheBraveNewWorld”这个话题的想法征服半决赛的评委们。今天，小二为大家请到了半决赛评委、复旦大学教授孙健老师解读“人与技术”。ManandTechnology:TheBraveNewWorld是这次演讲比赛半决赛的题目，以我个人的看法，这个题目很有特色且具有挑战性。题目的前半部分是有关人与技术的关系，而后半部分则借用了英国作家奥尔德斯伦纳德赫胥黎于1931年创作的小说《美妙的新世界》的书名。这样的组合不但能让演讲人在两个不同的层面对主题进行多元的阐释，而且打开了他们想象的空间，根据自己的理解自由地表达观点。人与技术的关系是自十八世纪后半期工业革命以来人们一直关注且相当复杂的问题，在当下的后工业时代，科学技术的发展日新月异，人与技术的问题更为突出。的确，技术给人们带来了便利和自由，然而，信息革命和人工智能的快速发展却不断地蚕食着我们的自由，让人慢慢地成为技术的附庸。说技术是把双刃剑并非危言耸听。上个世纪七十年代，美国有一部很有名的科幻电影《未来世界》，影片通过描述人们进入机器人疆界所遇到的恐怖经历向人们发出了警示。未来世界到底是个什么样的世界？是祸是福？是美妙的还是可怕的？随着时间的推移，人们的疑虑和关切不断地加深。事实上，赫胥黎的《美妙的新世界》是一部反乌托邦小说，书名具有强烈的反讽意味。作者借用了莎士比亚的《暴风雨》第五幕中米兰达的对白中的词语：神奇啊！这里有多少好看的人！人类是多么美丽！啊，新奇的世界，有这么出色的人物！“O,wonder!Howmanygoodlycreaturesaretherehere!Howbeauteousmankindis!Obravenewworld,Thathassuchpeoplein't!”。众所周知，莎士比亚是英国文艺复兴时期的文学巨匠，《暴风雨》则是他的最后一部作品。剧中的一个重要主线是腓迪南和米兰达的爱情故事。Miranda在意大利语中就有奇妙的含义。莎士比亚安排了一个大团圆的结尾，腓迪南和米兰达两位年轻人终成眷属，乘船离岛驶向米兰和那不勒斯，进入一个美妙的国度。这样的安排无疑彰显了莎士比亚一以贯之的人文主义情怀。赫胥黎的《美妙的新世界》创作于第一次世界大战之后，此后不久第二次世界大战爆发。工业革命的确带来了技术进步，但也让人类陷入前所未有的浩劫。所以在赫胥黎的笔下，人文主义精神，人的尊严和自由在美妙的新世界里荡然无存，人性复苏的奇迹不可能发生。尼尔波兹曼在“娱乐至死:赫胥黎的警告”一文中说过：“如果一个民族分心于繁杂琐事，如果文化生活被重新定义为娱乐的周而复始，如果严肃的公众对话变成了幼稚的婴儿语言，总而言之，如果人民蜕化为被动的受众，而一切公共事务形同杂耍，那么这个民族就会发现自己危在旦夕，文化灭亡的命运就在劫难逃。”根据ManandTechnology:TheBraveNewWorld这个已备演讲的题目，参加半决赛的选手们进行了精心的准备，讲演者都能紧扣主题，贴近现实，旁征博引，从历史、文化、哲学、文学等各个层面对主题进行阐述论说，有的由点到面，条分缕析；有的出其不意，语惊四座；有的借古喻今，说理生动。整个过程高潮迭起，精彩纷呈。在演讲中，选手们敢于触碰热点问题，不回避有争议的观点，直抒己见，立场鲜明，讲出了深度，论出了水平，在流利的英语中表现出了应有的自信，展示了年青一代朝气蓬勃的精神面貌。对此，在场的中外评委们都发出了由衷的赞叹：后生可畏，前途无量！最难能可贵的是，所有的参赛选手都表达了对未来的乐观情绪，给难点支招，针对问题提出解决方案，热情地讴歌了人性的伟大，人格的魅力，人的智慧！在他们看来，前进的路途上虽然充满着艰难险阻，将来的世界一定美妙无比。或许这正是出题者所要期待的答案吧。听了孙老师的分析，你们对人类与科技这个话题怎么看？来看看总决赛冠亚季军选手陈麒羽、朱家毅和汤天祎半决赛的精彩表现吧。陈麒羽第22届中国日报社“21世纪·可口可乐杯”全国英语演讲比赛全国总决赛冠军演讲稿：ManandTechnologyTheBraveNewWorldGoodmorning,ladiesandgentlemen,Thisworldisembracingournewgod---bigdata,whichisdeemedtobepervasive,powerfulandomnipotent.Ourworldisincreasingly‘datafied’.Andbigdataiscalleduponbydoctorsdecidinghowtotreatpatients,bankersinvestingmoney,andpoliticiansweighingonepolicyoveranother.EvenineverydaylifeIcanseepiousfollowersandworshipersofbigdataalmosteverywhere.MyroommateLily,shewon’teatanyfoodbeforecalculatingitsstarch,proteinandfatcontent.Accordingtoadatabasedmodel,shehastolose5kginordertobuildahealthyandsexyfigure.MycousinPenny,astatisticianobsessedwithdata,visitedamatchmakingagencyrecentlytofindaboyfriend.Oneimportantrequirementforheridealboyfriendis:doubleeyelids.Shehateshersingleeyelids.Geneticdatasaysthatbymarryingadouble-eyelidhusbandthereisa50%possibilityforafuturekidtobealsodouble-eyelid.Ourliteratureprofessoronceaskedusaquestionintheclass:whydoweattributeAllanPoeasaGothicwriter?Isitbecausehisnovelsaregloomyandscary?Well,thisisonlyyourgroundlesshypothesis.Youhavetoproveitbydata.Forexample,howmanytimesdoestheword“dead”appearinthenovel?Buildupthecorpus,calculatethefrequencyandproveyourhypothesisbydata!Allthesesoundreasonableandscientificandshouldworkoutwellwiththehelpofbigdata.However,Lilylostappetiteforthefoodprescribedbythedata-drivenmodel.Becauseofthepressureoflosingweight,sheactuallyatemorethanbefore,gainingweight,becomingheavierratherthanhealthier.CousinPenny’sdatewithayoungmanwentonsmoothly.Onedaytheyoungmanconfessedtoher:“Penny,Iloveyou”.Outofbewildermentandhappiness,sheansweredwithherdata-drivenstatistician’smind:“doyouhavestatisticevidencetosupportyourstatement?”Andthatbroughtanendtotheromance.Ourliteratureclassisalsogettingdiscouragingtoo.Wealwayscomplainedabouttheclassbeingtooboringandtoomechanical.Attheendofthesemestermanystudentsdroppedout,thereare15studentsleftandonly10ofthemmajoringinstatistics.Datawillanswerforall.Whydoesn’tthisgoldenprinciplework?Becauseweoftenpossessmoredatathaninsights.Wearestarvingforinsightsandweareactuallydrowningindate.Inthisbravenewworld,bigdatehascomewithbiginsights,haven’t?Wehaveurgentlytouseourinsightstointerpreterdate.Ifweputinsightsintodata,we’llfindoutthatpeopleeatnotonlyfornutrition,butalsoforpleasure,literatureismorehumanisticthanstatistic,andthataffectionismoreaboutemotionalfeelingthanharddata.Wecanusebigdata,butwestillhavetouseourinsightstojudge.Withoutinsights,bigdatamayleadtobigmistakes.Ladiesandgentlemen,whatIwanttotellyouisthat,statisticallyspeaking,thisspeechtakesyouapproximatelyfor4minuteswithtotalnumberwords522,andwiththekeyword“data”appearing26times.Butthemoreinsightfulmessageis:don’tdatafiedtheworldwithstatisticsbuthumanizeddatewithinsights.Thankyou.朱家毅第22届中国日报社“21世纪·可口可乐杯”全国英语演讲比赛全国总决赛亚军EfficiencyOrElse?“Whatiftechnologycanbreedbabies,giveitaneggandasperm,boom,anew-bornbaby!Wouldyoulikethat?”I’llthinkaboutit.Hereismymother’sassertion.“Ofcourseno.Itfeelsmagicaltohavethattiny,delicatelifetogrowinsideofyoufor10months.It’showhumanbecomeemotionallybonded.Youcan’tusetechnologytotaketheplaceofeverything.”MymomisjustaswiseasKevinKelly,afamousvisionarywhoalsoputintheTEDTalk:HowAICanBringOnASecondIndustrialRevolutionthat,“Anythingthatcanbe 科幻电影作为好莱坞历史最悠久、票房最具价值的一个重要类型,在过去一百年时间里,它的发展历史,从某种意义上勾勒出了现实世界中人与技术关系的发展走向:从憧憬到应用,从应用到依赖,从依赖到批判。通过对好莱坞科幻电影中的人与技术的关系进行研究,能够有效梳理和分析现代社会中人与技术之间存在的关系、走向,以及背后隐藏的社会的、文化的、心理的原因。文本为我们打开了一扇通向现实的门,电影中人与技术的关系,恰恰是对现实中人与技术关系的影射和预言,对电影文本的研究和分析,将为现实生活中人与技术关系的处理带来具有前瞻性的参考意义。　　本文共四个部分:第一部分对当前关于好莱坞科幻电影的研究文献做了系统性的梳理;第二部分着重对好莱坞科幻电影中的人类形象做了研究,总结出了人类在电影中相对于技术而言的三种形象:控制主体、改造对象、技术之奴;第三部分则从宏观上考察了好莱坞科幻电影中常见的技术:空间技术、人工智能、生物技术、信息技术,结合大量文本,从不同角度对上述技术做了系统的分析;第四部分,作为整个文章的核心部分,结合技术哲学,从现象学入手,对好莱坞科幻电影中人与技术的关系进行了解读。　　结语部分,结合当前社会中人与技术之间关系,对好莱坞电影中的人与技术做出了这样的论断:好莱坞科幻电影像一面镜子,为我们营造了一个又一个技术的“乌托邦”和“敌托邦”,将未来可能发生的情形尽可能地展现出来,以此唤起人们的反思,并在现实世界中尽可能避免问题的发生。技术本没有好坏之分。正如海德格尔在《对技术的追问》中提到的:技术的本质根本就不是什么技术因素,技术的本质就是人的本质,无论好莱坞科幻电影中的人与技术呈现出何种关系,无论现实世界中的人与技术呈现出什么关系,我们都应该谨记那句话:枪不杀人,人杀人,这才是人与技术终极关系。收起
