In order to meet the need of political rule,the emperors,Kangxi and Qianlong,adopt the ideology of Confucian schools of Han and Song,which is shown in the activities of compiling history in this period.On one hand,they advocate the Song learning,and on the other,they attach importance to the textual research of Han learning as well.Just following Compendium of ZizhiTongJian,a number of outline-stylistic history books are compiled.These books expatiate on orthodox thoughts,cardinal guides and constant virtues,monarchs' appropriate treats and ministers' loyalty.Also do they carry through strict text-research method.By compiling history books,Qing court makes Song learning trusty,and replants the method of studying Confucian classics into official compiling history books.This not only connects Confucian classics and history,but also influence scholars' attitude to Han and Song learning in Kang-Qian period.
