简明 Python 教程 ( A Byte of Python )
是Swaroop C.H. 教授为Python初学者写的一本书。&如果你只会打字的话，那这本书就是给你写的。&这本书的网站上这么写道。
这本书被很多大学作为课本所使用，比如上面提到的加州大学，以及NASA的喷气推进实验室(译注：表示不明白具体情况)。
这本书包含Python 2.X以及3.0版本的内容，但是仅仅更新到了3.0版本。另外，这本书同时也提供印刷版本。
Python核心编程 ( Learn Python the Hard Way )
是Zed Shaw为初学者写的一本书，书内使用的是Python 2.6版本。
Shaw是Mongrel以及Mongrel2的作者，以及这个程序员宣言的作者。
