-Steam Train trip: Every two months (on a Sunday morning), a Friends of the Rail-managed steam locomotive, complete with crew and train management, takes passengers on a day trip to Cullinan and back.

All rooms have a shared bathroom (part of the A-Frame) and shared outdoor shower (located in the bamboo forest).
We have limited cell phone signal, no wi-fi and no TV.
The two rooms and bathroom in the A-Frame (Mi Casa and The Attic), the dining hall and the lapa have electricity.
The rondavel is solar powered for lighting.
It is also built somewhat under the ground from rock with the windows at ground level making the room warm in winter and cool in summer.

We have a number of pets ranging from Yorkie to Great Dane which are very much a part of our life.The farm is situated in the middle of a wattle forest which is in the center of maize farmlands.
It is wonderfully secluded from every day distractions.
The closest shop is a small farm shop about 8km from us.
Town is 40km away.This was the fist night of our trip in South Africa and it was one of the best. Super clean and beautiful, it is a perfect stop when arriving in Jo'Burg (at the airport before 2:00PM) while on the way to Kruger National Park. Not sure that the dusty road that reachs
this remote and quiet retreat is ok for all cars (we had a Toyota Avanza) during the rainy season, that's the one thing you need to ask and Debbi will surely inform you.

It is a beautiful log cabin set in a peaceful area. We enjoyed watching the sunrise while sipping hot chocolate on the deck. We also took a nice hike to the top of the Hill. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean.

We had wonderful time at Janet&#x27;s place. We had unplanned pitstop in Pretoria due to delay on onward travel visa. We had to find accommodation quickly and Janet was very helpful, quick to respond and communication was easy with her. She kindly picked us up from the train station and drived us around next day.
House is very beautiful, room is extremely good value for the money and we felt very welcomed. The house is in suburban area so if you have your own car it makes life easier. The hosts, Petty & Janet are lovely and really looked after me and made sure everything was good. The house is really big with safe parking, free wifi, two lovely jack russell dogs and have a lovely terrace overlooking the beautiful garden. It is quiet place and perfect for escaping the bustle of Joburg & Pretoria. Pretoria is only a 10 minutes drive away if you want to do some sightseeing there.
